Hyles-Anderson College was started 39 years ago as the fulfillment of the vision of Dr. Jack Hyles. His heart burned with a love and a deep concern for the direction his beloved nation was taking. The United States Supreme Court was permitting the genocide of the unborn infants of this land; the illegal drug culture was at its peak in our public schools; and the rock-and-roll culture of rebellion and promiscuity was having a profound influence upon the teenagers of our land. Brother Hyles feared our country was quickly slipping from the old-fashioned ways upon which she had been founded. He wanted to do what he could to save this nation from the sin and destruction she was bringing upon Herself.

Walking along a highway in Southern California late one night into the early morning hours of the next day, Bro. Hyles felt God speak to his heart about founding an old-fashioned, sin-hating, Devil-fighting, Christ-honoring Bible college where the students would dress modestly and act courteously; a college where all the students went soul winning and were trained by soul winners; a college where the chapel pulpit was ablaze with red-hot preaching; a college where authority was respected and sin was abhorred; a college where young men would be trained to preach with zeal and knowledge; a college where young ladies were taught to be submissive wives and dedicated servants of God. Thus was the birthright of Hyles-Anderson College when the doors opened in 1972.

Thirty-nine years later, our founder is in Heaven. He gave us a legacy that burns brighter and with more intensity today than it has ever before. The soul-winning zeal, the fervent love for the lost, the evangelistic fervor, the red-hot preaching, the old-fashioned standards of decency and propriety are alive and well here at Hyles-Anderson College.

Do you use the wildly popular photo-sharing app Instagram? If so, then you know you’re stuck looking at your beautiful retro photos on mobile devices only.

The best part about Instagram is sharing your pictures with the community, but what if you want to view them on your computer screen?

You can with Instagrille. You won’t be able to upload pictures from your computer, but if you have an Instagram account you’ll have all the other functionality.

The only way to start an Instagram account is to download the mobile app to your smartphone. For the PC you’ll need to download the developer’s install program, which contains no adware, malware, viruses or bloatware.

Voter ID Hypocrisy by Our Attorney General

Attorney General Eric Holder addressed the NAACP National Convention in Houston earlier today where he blasted the state of Texas for pursuing voter ID laws, saying they discriminate against minorities and even called requiring a valid ID to vote a “poll tax.”

Well, unless there wasn’t a single minority journalist in attendance at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Monday, the NAACP is guilty of racial discrimination, at least according to Holder’s blanket definition of the term.

Townhall’s Katie Pavlich reports the NAACP required all media in attendance to present a “government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver’s license) as well as valid media credentials.” This is according to a press release reportedly circulated by the group prior to the conference.

Townhall has more details:

Earlier today, Attorney General Eric Holder addressed the NAACP [National] Convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. What did media need in order to attend? That’s right, government issued photo identification (and a second form of identification too!), something both Holder and the NAACP stand firmly against when it comes to voting. Holder’s DOJ is currently suing Texas for “discriminatory” voter ID laws. From the press release:

All media must present government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver’s license) as well as valid media credentials. Members of the media must RSVP to receive press credentials at http://action.naacp.org/page/s/registration. For security purposes, media check-in and equipment set up must be completed by 7:45 a.m. CDT for an 8:00 a.m. CDT security sweep.  Once the security sweep is completed, additional media equipment will NOT be permitted to enter and swept equipment will NOT be permitted to exit.’

To make it even more ironic, NAACP CEO and President Benjamin Jealous addressed the conference on Monday and also railed against voter ID laws, comparing the issue to the civil rights battles of the 1960s. These are “Selma and Montgomery times,” he said, referring to historic Alabama civil rights confrontations.

“We must overwhelm the rising tide of voting suppression with the high tide of registration and mobilization and motivation and protection,” said Jealous.

GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is expected to speak at the NAACP conference tomorrow.

Rep. Ted Poe (R-Texas) called out Holder for his apparent hypocrisy today while speaking on the House Floor, saying: “Holder is inconsistent. He believes in security and photo IDs for people when he speaks but rejects valid security and IDs for people when they vote.”
